Charlie's Up North is owned and operated by Charlie & Deb Thompson, lifetime residents of the Walker area. The restaurant was bought on December 5, 2001 and opened on December 15, 2001. With many years of catering in Charlie's background the restaurant was initially purchased for catering purposes; however it soon turned into a full time job for both Charlie & Deb.
Charlie built the Boathouse Bar & Grill in the summer of 2002; however it was not up and running until 2003. Everybody loves to visit the boatbar, sitting outside enjoying the great up north weather, visiting with friends and family, and on occasion singing and dancing on the ironwood dance floor!
Charlie & Deb's goal is to make their customers feel welcome and to make their meals or drinks as enjoyable as possible so all of our customers will come back to visit us again and bring their friends and family to also experience the great food and service that Charlie's has to offer.
